iELF began in response to growing student and faculty needs on our campus, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. We quickly realized that the demand for advanced level resources on academic English is not just localized to our campus. These resources are sought out by international students and scholars studying at other U.S. institutions and ESL learners all over the world.

We realize that creating a comprehensive online resource center for advanced academic English is a BIG task. We are are up to the challenge, but we are also building collaboration with other individuals, TESL programs, and institutions around the world. Our hope is that iELF will develop into an inter-instituional endeavor. Below are some ways you can get involved.
